Purpose of Report
A report gives factual information about the way things are.
generic Structure of Report
The structure of a simple report has 3 sections:
1. Introduction - saying what the report is about.
2. Main section - stating what the facts are.
3. Conclusion - what the writer thinks or decides as a result of the facts.
Language feature of Report
1. A simple report uses present tense to describe things that are true. (Past tense should be used for things that are clearly in the past).
2. Sentences should be clear and factual.
3. It should be written in third person.
